General Assembly Meeting in Athens

In October, and at the occasion of the 2nd project anniversary, we held our third in person General Assembly in Athens organised by our consortium member KEMEA. General Assemblies are central to Horizon Europe projects, serving as a platform for consortium partners to gather, evaluate progress, and coordinate the next phases of implementation. These meetings foster collaboration and ensure all partners align with the project’s overarching goals and objectives.

During the meeting, key achievements from the past months were highlighted. Partners shared updates on ongoing activities, including research progress, stakeholder engagement, and tool development. Discussions also centred on the challenges encountered, particularly in areas such as data access, legal frameworks, and further needs to communicate with the public about the dangers of online disinformation. These conversations were crucial in refining the project’s strategies and ensuring that deliverables remain impactful and aligned with EU priorities. It was also a unique opportunity to get feedback from other partners, especially Police Authorities.

Looking ahead, the meeting outlined the next steps, including the development of the second pilot of the platform, enhancing engagement with the Community of Early Adopters, and disseminating findings to maximise the project’s research and policy impact. The collaborative spirit at the meeting reinforced the importance of leveraging the diverse expertise of partners to achieve VIGILANT’s ambitious goals. We are ready to dive into the third year of the project!
